Is it normal for Strattera to not...work?
I've been diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed 60mg Strattera for almost 5 months now.
The only benefit of Strattera I've had is that it has become slightly easier for me to sit down and actually study. It's nowhere near enough, because I'll do it once or twice every two weeks, but it's still noticeably easier than before.
The side effects of it are grueling and this single benefit does not compensate for them at all.
I'm exhausted all the time. I can't start certain tasks because I'm too tired to do so, most of the day I'll be thinking about going to sleep and finally resting. I can't take Strattera in the morning because I'll be FIGHTING to keep my eyes open for the next two hours or so. I'm sleepy all the time but I also have trouble sleeping. I will stay awake for more than an hour trashing around the bed because I can't fall asleep. It numbs me emotionally to the point I feel like I lost my personality, yet I'm somehow more irritable(?) If I forget to take my medication for two days, which used to happen a lot, anxiety spikes.
No positive or negative change on my hyperacitivity and a very slight improvement on my impulsivity.
The thing is, my psychiatrist won't prescribe me anything else when I tell them Strattera doesn't work, because they say stimulants might make me anxious.
I feel like I might be misdiagnosed at this point.
