I’ve initiated the OCIA process and started to attend mass weekly. Am I supposed to, or “allowed” to confess?
As the title suggests, I’ve began the OCIA process. I met with a member of the church staff and introduced myself, went over my reasons for wanting to convert, and am in the very early process of starting the conversion process. By very early, I mean I haven’t attended any of the classes/meetings yet. They haven’t occurred yet. However I have attended mass weekly for the last 3 weeks. A question I forgot to ask is regarding confession. I know for current Catholics, one is expected to confess his/her sins before taking the Eucharist. I know I am not supposed to take the Eucharist until converted, which I don’t plan to do. With this said, am I not supposed to, or not “expected” to confess, or is this still a recommended practice?
