When I connected the dots between Harry’s comment in the owlery in Ch 29 to a scene in DH.

Crouch Sr just appeared in the forest. It’s the next morning and the trio are in the owlery sending an update to Snuffles. Ron asks if Snape could have beaten Harry and Dumbledore to the forest to attack Crouch before they got there. Harry says “not unless he can become a bat or something”.

Then in DH, Snape flies out the window to escape McGonagall.

I never connected those dots until just now.
