I bought the A Nightmare on Elm Street Chapter about an hour ago and just tried The Nightmare for the first time. Before that, I played two custom matches against bots to get at least some feel for his powers (1 win and 1 loss) and then I went straight into a real match to be COOKED :-D.

When the match began on Mount Ormond Resort and I reached the survivors on the other side of the map, two of them were just standing there doing nothing, waiting for me to hit and down them. A third saw it and came over too, so I hit him as well, chased him, downed him, and hooked him. Meanwhile, the fourth survivor picked up one of the downed survivors, went unhook, heal right under the hook and then all of them just ran straight up to me and let themselves get downed. I ended up letting them bleed out while I just watched, because they completely ruined the game I had been SO SO EXCITED to play.

Nobody DC´d!

They didn´t even start repairing the gen they were standing right next to. I didn´t use any kind of stealth either - I just walked straight up to them in broad daylight, and they could have easily run away.

They probably gave up during the starting animation rotation, and I have no idea why. I thought The Nightmare was generally considered a weak killer, no?? Is he boring to face or something? I always have so much fun when I encounter him as a survivor.

So yes, I got the Adapt achievement, but the feeling of actually earning it is completely ruined. Of course I’ll try again in a proper match (hopefully..) but still... what happened? I have never encountered this kind of behavior before with any killer I play.

Bought Freddy, loaded into my first real match, and all 4 survivors just surrendered on sight :´-(
