I agree with the proposition that one needs a political representative of the same race to be properly represented in the USA, yeah or nah?

Random Question 💭

The Supreme Court has limited the Voting Rights Act power to compel states to draw congressional voting districts in such a way as make it very likely black people will have sufficient mass to elect a black person as representative in at least some districts within a state.

The obvious underlying assumption is only a black can be expected to faithfully represent another black person. The corollary is that only a white can represent other whites, Latinos for Latinos and so on.

My question do you subscribe to this assumption for yourself? Do you personally feel only a member of your race can represent you in government? I'm not asking whether you think others believe that, I'm asking only what you think for your person.
