i want to move out

ok i need some advice and help, so ive been living on ubc residence for a year now and i resigned my lease because its due in february and i didnt have any idea of what i wanted to do but didnt want to be homeless. anyway my best friend is looking for a roomate and she has an awesome place on campus that is right by where all my classes are. im wondering what i can do in this situation if i want to move out, can i email ubc and see if i can just get out of my lease? what’s the situation with illegally subletting over the winter term? also its good to mention that me and my roomate really butt heads and aren’t very fond of eachother, and living there is really hindering my mental health, i need some help here what do i do?
