New England Law Boston revoked my admission after THEIR admissions team failed to inform me about wire transfer payment options something their own IT department confirmed was admissions' responsibility. Need advice.
I got into New England Law Boston with a full scholarship. Before the seat deposit deadline, I requested an extension mutually agreed upon. That part was handled.
Then their portal blocked me out entirely due to my international location. I emailed admissions WAY BEFORE THE DEADLINE asking for an alternative payment method. I was in direct contact with two admissions staff members. My email was ignored when I asked for an alternative method of payment UNTIL my account issue gets resolved.
Here's where it gets worse: instead of helping me, the admissions department spent that time pressuring me, repeatedly telling me I was going to lose my seat. No solutions. Just pressure.
I tried multiple international credit cards. Nothing worked because of the portal access issue. I kept calling IT because no one in admissions was responding usefully by email. After several calls, IT told me there was a wire transfer option available for international students and that it is the ADMISSIONS DEPARTMENT'S responsibility to inform students about it. I only found out this option existed through IT. Admissions never told me, not even when I directly asked for alternative payment methods.
The IT department confirmed: this was on admissions. Not me.
Then I was told my admission was revoked.
On a call, with the Director of Admissions, she said I should have asked for wire info earlier LIKE ITS MY RESPONSIBILITY. Regardless, I DID. Before the deadline. I have the email.
I've now formally escalated to the Dean, Associate Dean, and Director of Admissions. But I want to know, has anyone dealt with something like this? What are my legal or formal options? Is this grounds for a complaint to the ABA or any accreditation body?
This is a law school ffs.
