Can someone please explain why the police are being so slow in handling my high risk domestic abuse case or give any advice? (England)

I'm 24F and reported my abuser to the police 2 weeks ago, alongside two other of his victims. I've reported physical and sexual abuse, stalking and detailed threats made to my life. The other victims have experienced pretty much the same, except he broke into one of their houses shortly after the report was made and stole weapons. I don't want to name the weapons in case he somehow sees this as they're very uncommon. After the weapons were stolen, we were all advised to leave the county for our safety, but have since returned after alarms and cameras were fitted in our houses. Since then, there has been one other night that we were advised to relocate for our safety, and one further possible stalking incident in the form of boxing gloves left outside my front door. We were told last Saturday that he would be arrested for rape and burglary, and that there had been a delay as another team had to conduct the arrest because of the risk to officers since he's armed. Since then, none of us have heard anything from the police. I'm just confused why, in such a high risk situation, the response is so slow.

For context, me and my abuser have been separated for over a year now, and the stalking and threats have continued to escalate since then.

We've all given video-recorded statements and sent them all of our evidence, including medical reports of injuries from physical and sexual assault. I know it's been referred for a MARAC conference. I'm also waiting for Women's Aid to assign me an advocate. I'm just confused because they are saying that we are at high risk of murder, and he's already forcibly broken into another victim's home, yet he still hasn't been arrested.

Could anyone help me understand what might be the delay, and if there's anything I can be doing to help all of us? Obviously, all of us are very anxious that we are all living in the same town as him whilst he's armed and stalking us, despite having the alarms and cameras. We'd also all chosen to not report it earlier because of the threats made to our lives, so I also just hope we've done the right thing.

Thank you in advance to anyone who's read all of this.
