Transferring miis from Miitopia?

I have seen some miis in the game, that have customization options I cannot find anywhere in the built-in mii maker for Tomadachi Life: Living the Dream.

Sure, some if it can be paint, but I started wondering if they were miis created from the “mii in your system” feature, from a mii in Miitopia.

But I don’t have Miitopia. So before I buy it, I wanted to ask, does the mii keep any wigs or makeup or miitopia-specific customization options when you upload it to your system’s mii maker, then to Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream?
