To my recent invaders

Recently jumped into souls and have been absolutely loving it. I dont *love* invasions, but I acknowledge the thematic consistency with the rest of the game and had kind of accepted those deaths as necessary sacrifices to have the full experience, as it were. This week I have actually beaten my first few invaders and boy did it feel great lol. But what I came here to talk about is kits- most of these invaders came in with weapons and spells that I didnt recognize and several seemed to... get pumped? Maybe? When they realized i was just running greatsword and shield with no crazy meta stuff. And just fought me straight up melee. And I beat a couple of them! Anyway my topic of discussion is do you prefer a duel between mundane kits or godly kits in that sense?
