How do you stay motivated when learning programming starts feeling repetitive?
I have been learning programming for a few months now, mostly working through tutorials and small exercises. At the beginning it felt exciting because everything was new, but lately I have hit a phase where it all feels a bit repetitive. I find myself doing similar problems, following patterns, and not feeling that same sense of progress even though I know I am improving in small ways.
I still enjoy the idea of becoming better at programming, but the day-to-day practice sometimes feels like I am just going through the motions. I try to build small projects, but I often get stuck or lose interest halfway through, especially when things stop working and I do not know how to debug properly.
I have read advice about “just keep coding” or “build projects you care about,” but I am curious what that actually looks like in practice. How do you personally keep yourself engaged during this phase? Do you switch topics, take breaks, or push through it?
Would really appreciate hearing how others handled this stage and what helped you stay consistent without burning out.
