Advice for Whistler's Bend in mid May

Driving to PDX from the Bay Area around mid May. Stopping in Ashland to play Emigrant Lake. Next morning I plan on heading up to Whistler's Bend. Any suggestions, tips, tricks? I will try to play all 27 holes.
