Finally the Ugreen Theater App on LG G5 Evo automatically switch between modes (Dolbyvision) but only on DV not for HDR10/plus (please read on)

Movies and TV shows have always played great on my G5 Evo using the Theater app (the latest version on Apple TV 4K), but one thing I’ve always found lacking—something Infuse, for example, has always been able to do—is that when I start a movie in Dolby Vision, the TV automatically switches to DV picture mode as soon as the movie starts. Since the last update, this finally works in the Theater app on the TV. Unfortunately, though, it currently only works with Dolby Vision; for HDR10, I have to use Infuse or manually set HDR10 in the Apple TV settings every time.

I wrote an email to the Ugreen NAS support team back then, and they responded very quickly. They said they’d forward it to the dev team and work on it, thanked me for the feedback, and noted that I’d compared the app to Infuse.

What I think is missing now, as I said, is that I no longer have to adjust the settings manually—instead, regardless of whether it’s DV or HDR10, the picture mode on the LG should switch automatically when I start the movie, just like with Infuse.

Then the app is nearly perfect for movies and tv shows.
