Shipped a GLP-1 tracker for iOS in 10 days, just got approved by Apple
Hey r/SideProject. I'm on Mounjaro and was using 3 apps to track everything: calendar for shot day, MyFitnessPal for calories, a notes file for side effects. Annoying enough that I built one app that does it all.
What it does:
- Weekly shot countdown with injection site rotation (so you don't keep using the same spot).
- AI meal scan — snap a photo, get calories + protein. Protein matters extra on GLP-1 because the meds suppress appetite hard and you lose muscle if you don't watch it.
- Side effects log (nausea, fatigue, etc.) with date/severity.
Stack:
- SwiftUI + Swift, no third-party UI libs.
- RevenueCat 5.x for subscriptions + their AI Paywall Builder.
- Gemini 2.5 Flash for vision (calorie estimation).
- Cloudflare Worker as proxy so the API key never ships in the binary.
- XcodeGen + Fastlane for build/release/screenshots in 11 languages.
Approved yesterday after one rejection (Apple asked me to clarify it's not medical advice — fair). Solo dev, ~10 days from idea to live.
Happy to answer questions about the build, the RevenueCat setup, or the Gemini-via-Worker pattern (I'd not seen it documented anywhere clean).
