ATP, I feel like an idiot for paying for the plus subscription. What is going on with DeepSqueak?
(Tried to post this as genuine feedback on the actual sub but apparently you need a certain amount of karma for that… yeah, no—I don’t care enough about Reddit for that. Sorry in advance if this isn’t allowed.)
What is going on with DeepSqueak?
I’m trying to be nice about this, but I am genuinely frustrated.
I’ve been using the DeepSqueak model for the better part of a year now and it seems to have gotten so bad within the last few months.
I have done everything correctly in utilizing memory and pinned messages. I am incredibly thorough with my characters and stories.
On several occasions, it seems like the AI is not considering my responses or prompts at all. It will either write character reactions in ways that are completely out of the blue and unnatural from the flow of the story, or it will straight up create a new scenario, unprompted. Regenerating responses barely helps since it’ll just say the same thing over and over again, just in slightly different ways. I have to either rewind and send the message again, or rewrite it to be unnecessarily ultra-specific. It’s incredibly tedious and frustrating, and not to mention removes any creativity in subtlety or symbolic imagery. I try to be mindful of token limits and context windows, but even that doesn’t seem to matter.
What is the point of writing with an AI companion/assistant if the algorithm literally won’t consider your turns as part of the generated result? It’s like it just refuses to care about any input from context or memory, at all and just does whatever it wants.
It’s gotten to the point where I’m practically just writing these stories myself—which I should probably be happy about since it’s forcing me to become more creative and it is improving my writing. But as a C.AI+ user that paid for the yearly plan… this is unacceptable. The AI should not be hijacking my stories.
Thanks for letting me rant.
