How to avoid stretching with loose woven material?
I am sewing a tapestry jacket (see my first attempt attached, the fabric is a thick, loose woven style) and last time, I struggled a lot with the fabric shifting on me and stretching in weird ways that made it hard to assemble. You can see on the top of the zipper and bottom hem. I was wondering if you all have any tips? These are things I have considered:
Stay stitching with a walking foot immediately after cutting
Interfacing the entirety of the fabric before cutting (the fabric is so thick I don't know if interfacing will do much)
Serging (will lose notches in fabric that I need to guide assembly)
Also, the jacket isn't for me, I know it is really poorly fitting, haha
