Awkward kitchen nook, how to decorate?

Hiya! I'm moving out on my own soon, and I've been thinking about this little nook in the kitchen, it has some awkward space I'm not sure how to fill/ utilize. It's a small studio so I'd like for no space to go to waste.

I was considering putting a small herb garden on the windowsill there, but both the open shelves and that nook are still a bit of a mystery to me. The kitchen is surprisingly big/ has all the cabinet space I'd ever need, so kitchen storage isn't necessarily an issue. So if anyone has any ideas it'd be great!!
