Artist call: CAN-AL Festival, St Mullins, Co. Carlow

Hi all, posting from CAN-AL Festival with mod approval.

This is a clean replacement for the earlier post, which had old provisional date wording.

CAN-AL is a permission-led street/public art pilot being developed for St Mullins, County Carlow, with the proposed revised weekend now 21-23 August 2026, subject to written permissions, insurance, event-management review and safety planning.

We have opened artist submissions for muralists, lettering artists, stencil artists, illustrators, public-art makers, installation artists, and live painters who would suit a contained rural pilot rather than a large city festival.

The first-year version is intentionally controlled: temporary boards where appropriate, verified walls only, heritage-sensitive no-go areas, live painting, community activity, and a walkable village route along the River Barrow.

There is no submission fee. Artist terms, materials, accommodation, and wall allocations are still being finalised as permissions and support lock in. Selected artists will receive clear written terms before confirmation.
