I (30M) have never been in a relationship. I'd like to get an idea of what it actually feels like sharing your life with someone else for years.
Hi everyone, I'd like to preface this by explaining the reason I've never had a girlfriend. It has been a combination of very bad familar issues, depression and extreme social anxiety, lack of self esteem and evitative personality disorder. Despite all these terrible things I've had to deal with, I've had many acquaintances and I do have friends and an active social life, though it wasn't always like this.
I started therapy at 27 and, in less than three years, I've become a completely renewed person: went from depressed to happy, I have many hobbies, work out, and have no issues meeting new people or women (I've been told I'm attractive and have a great sense of humor and good conversation, so I guess that makes me more approachable). I'm still working out lots of things in my life but for the first time I feel very confident in myself and in my ability to maintain a relationship.
I have had many many chances of starting relationships before but, given my severely negative environment and mental status at the time, I always ended up self sabotaging or not even trying to create a bond.
Since now I feel ready to meet someone in a serious manner, I'd like to know what it feels like being in a relationship; more specifically, what it looks like for all of you who are/have been in one. What's the usual way things go about: chatting every day? Plans every week? Spending time at each other's house often? I'm just curious because these concepts feel so.... Alien to me, so to speak. I've never had a strong LASTING romantic bond with anybody, and I'd like to hear your experiences. Thank you.
Tl;dr: how does day-to-day feel like when being in a long lasting relationship? I don't have experience.
