Strategy Brainstorm: Solving the Liquidity Problem

Discussion

Hello everyone, I’m working on a social app project that aims to bridge cultures without a language barrier.

We’re using automated LLM translation in chat. Users match randomly with people from different countries and communicate instantly in their own language.

The app’s core value depends on "instant pairing." To avoid long wait times and empty lobbies on Day 1, we need a high concentration of active users from the start.

The Goal: Build a waitlist of 5,000+ "hyped" users ready to jump in at launch.

How would you achieve this 5k target with a limited budget? Would you focus on specific "power corridors" (e.g., Brazil-Turkey or Japan-USA) to ensure liquidity, or go broad? What kind of pre-launch content or referral mechanics would make a social app "waitlist-worthy" in 2026?

Looking forward to your insights. Thank you!
