Uber Eats…Scam?

I’m super confused following a convo with “Grubhub” altho it really might have been Grubhub. So I place an order and I get a call saying it’s grubhub and they have no drivers so my food is arriving via uber eats. They send me a confirmation code but the code says never share this with anyone so I tell the guy I cannot share it. He says then we’ll have to cancel with no refund. I say because I placed an order with grubhub but won’t divulge uber eats info, I get no refund? He acquiesces to canceling the order with refund. I get a notification that grubhub has canceled my order and figure he must have been legit. So, I place the same order again.

The guys calls back, same spiel. He says I need the verification code so I give it to him. The. He says I also need the one sent to your email by uber eats. The problem? I tell him that’s an old email because I no longer have uber eats and do not have access to this email. He says ok, then I need the last 8 digits of your credit card. I say no and he says something like ok I’ve handed off your food I hope you enjoy. Please replace your uber eats email within 2-3 hours.

Was I overly cautious? Has anyone had this experience? TIA. Curious to see whether my food arrives
