What do I do?
Long-time lurker, first time poster. Actually, this is the first time I’ve ever been at such a loss for what to do with my situation that I’ve thought to ask for advice from any subreddit.
Context:
I am a 37 year old ENTP man, who is madly, deeply in love with an INTJ woman. We have been together for over 3 months, and I am in entirely new territory. We also have been living together for the last month ish. I’ve been in love before, and had my fair share of relationships. But this is entirely different. It feels like we share our own unique language, and I’ve never felt such a deep connection with another person as I feel with her. I really think she could be the love of my life.
But, I fucked up. She went on a work trip for two weeks, during which she expressed being at maximum capacity with her work and that it was leaving her feeling depleted.
I was feeling rather depressed at the same time, and I really wanted to hear her voice. She reiterated that she was pressed with her work duties, and still I pushed her to talk to me. Two minutes, thirty seconds, anything would’ve been more than enough. I pushed her too far, and a week ago (half way through the trip) she called me to end our relationship.
I am, was, have been devastated. I’m completely beside myself, because I have never loved another so deeply as this. I see where I went wrong, and I have every intention of being accountable for it and how it negatively affected her.
But tonight she is coming over to collect her things before we part ways, possibly forever.
I am completely crushed by this, and I want nothing more than to just sit down and work through this together. But, she isn’t giving me the chance.
What do I do? How can I reach her? All couples have some degree of conflict, but I’ve never loved another like this and I can’t understand why she wouldn’t even consider talking about things or trying to fix them first.
The week before she left she told me she was in love with me, too.
I’m sorry if this isn’t well-worded, or properly composed. I’m not exactly composed right now myself.
I just want to make things right. Or, rather, the opportunity to try to.
