Are There Any Actually Good Mario Sports Games?

Most Mario Sports games kinda of just bank on you liking the gameplay and don't have much in terms of single player content. And the story mode campaigns are often times numbingly simple and tedious.

But again I haven't played all the Mario Sports games (like none on the 3DS). Is there a Mario Sports games that has something for people who don't just play for the love of the game?
