Dining credit users in Austin, make sure you monitor your refund

My partner and I recently used the Sapphire exclusive reservation for Este through OpenTable. After checking back on my card a week later to see if the dining credit had worked it still had not cleared. Instead, the dining credit was applied only to an $11 transaction at a random dive bar I had visited a day later.

After I called and explained the issue to Chase the guy put me on hold for like 10 minutes and then came back to tell me “There’s no such restaurant available through OpenTable affiliated with Chase” and then said he couldn’t find such a restaurant. I told him that I was looking right at the OpenTable list of restaurants as we were speaking, so he let me submit a claim for review. It took another 4-5 days but it finally cleared as a credit.

The system seems a bit jank still so make sure you don’t put too much trust in it. Perhaps specifically with their system recognizing Este.
