Has anyone at TMU ever appealed something like this?

Academics / Courses

Basically I got a lower mark than expected so I emailed the proff and they reviewed my final exam and found out I got a 0 on the entire multiple choice section because I apparently didn’t put the answers on the bubble sheet. I did write/show my work and circled the MC answers in the actual exam booklet, but they’re saying the instructions said MC had to be on the bubble sheet and answers in the booklet won’t be graded which I totally missed, my brain was locked in on doing well and solving the problems.

I get that instructions matter, but I genuinely didn’t realize there was bubble sheet was for the MC answers, and the exam also had written problems that we solved directly in the booklet, so I thought the booklet was where answers were being recorded. The MC section is worth enough that this is literally the difference between passing and failing the course, and it’s required for me to graduate this spring.

I already emailed the prof asking if they can review the MC answers from the booklet since the answers are there and I didn’t leave the section blank. If they say no, what’s the next step? Grade appeal? Department?

I also asked to review my final exam in person and the proff completely ignored that.

I did really poorly on the midterm, so I spent two weeks studying like 10–12 hours a day to actually improve in the course, and I did that on the final, was able to answer all questions.

That’s why this feels so unfair and why I feel like I should fight it, because I did the work and the answers are literally in the exam booklet. I showed that I understand the material isn't that the whole point? why do I have to retake the class...
