S/o Connelly for not including Jaden in the Gobert trade

Connelly proved a lot of people wrong with the Gobert trade. The players we gave up are either out of the league (bolmaro, Pat bev), basically out of the rotation (vando), or under investigation (Malik Beasley). Only player of value is Walker Kessler who can’t stay on the court often enough with injury and will already be 25 by the start of next season.

Connelly decided to not give them McDaniels, throwing in an extra or 2 firsts to keep him out of the deal. Jaden has been the perfect running mate to Ant over the years.

If you are worried we could’ve had Keyonte George, he wouldn’t have had the runway to become a great player in Minnesota after the first two years in Utah of shooting sub 40% from the field. It just wasn’t going to happen with us with a win now mindset around a star like Ant.

Like many wolves fans thought at the time, screw the picks. When you can add a dpoy and all time defender like Rudy, you have to do it. And it sped up the timeline of Ant making deeper postseason runs. Connelly knew after the grizzlies series that the wolves were a rim protector short of being a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs.
