Anyone know of small business vendors or eateries in Mangalore that deserve a visit?

I'm looking to find a couple small business vendors, owners of eateries etc in Mangalore, could be a cobbler, coconut vendor or a home run thali joint. If you've known someone who has been working really hard and deserves something special, I'd love to go out there and support their business and even give them some extra cash, or a lil surprise!
