Am I D A hole
Being the breadwinner is already heavy—but being neglected and blamed on top of it can feel suffocating. You carry the responsibility, make the sacrifices, and keep things running, yet instead of appreciation, you’re met with criticism or silence.
It creates a kind of frustration that’s hard to put into words. You give so much, yet when something goes wrong, the finger points at you. When things go right, it’s expected—nothing special. It can start to feel like no matter how much you do, it’s never enough.
There’s also a deep sense of unfairness in it. You’re held accountable for everything, but rarely supported. Expected to be strong, but not given space to be human. Over time, that can wear you down—making you feel undervalued, unseen, and emotionally drained.
No one should have to carry both the weight of responsibility and the burden of blame alone. Being a breadwinner doesn’t mean you deserve less understanding—it means you need it just as much, if not more.
