Should I stall a job offer?
Hi all,
I’m currently on a PIP at my employer and approaching the final weeks. I’m mentally exhausted from the constant stress and negativity and have been applying for new opportunities. At my current job I’m hybrid (2 days/week remote), a 20-minute commute, and earn $86,000.
Today I received an offer from a smaller company (Company A) for $92,000, fully on-site, with a 35-minute commute. I met the manager and team and everyone seemed great — I can see myself working there.
I also received a call from a large, prestigious aerospace company (Company B) for a final interview on Monday. I requested a salary range of $95–$105k. Company B is about twice the distance of Company A; the commute is typically 50 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on traffic.
Company A didn’t give a deadline to respond and listed a start date in about two weeks. Should I hold off on signing until after my interview with Company B on Monday? What would you recommend?
