Can I ask why ambush decos are being recommended for the HBG progression build?

In the google docs guide pinned here the HR41+ progression build has 3 ambush decos. Isn't it a very situational skill? I'm hardly an expert but I feel like you would generally benefit more often from something like earplugs, flawless, destroyer, etc. Especially when playing online.
