Hot take: drag race could do away with the ball challenge

I've seen a lot of people complain that season 18 didn't have a ball challenge, but honestly, I was completely fine with it, and I'd honestly be ok with it if the ball were gone for good.

Yes, getting to see more runways is nice from an audience perspective. However, my issue is that the ball, more than any other challenge, heavily favors wealthy queens who can afford to drop tens of thousands of dollars on their runway package.

In a traditional design challenge, all of the queens are on an even playing field, since they're all working with the same materials and being judged on their ability to construct and style an outfit. But in the ball challenge, because the 2 looks brought from home are also being taken into consideration, queens who are more talented seamstress/designers can lose to queens who have more money to hire designers. Drag race is always gonna favor queens who have more money, since the runway is taken into account in every episode (excluding normal design challenges), so what's the point in having challenge that favors then *even more?*

Personally, I'd rather see more design challenges in place of the ball. If they're gonna do a ball, I think it should at least be a non-elimination challenge. But what do y'all think?
