I’m kinda laughing at this but like i’m not😭

I’m doing shoe freight and as yk we get the box cutters, and I always have 2 but today I only had one. I also never leave it behind when walking away doing freight.

But this time I left the cutter in the box I was using/ just opened not thinking much of it. This older man had a dog in his cart but no protection on the cart. He had been standing around the shoes for about 10 mins while I was opening up the shoes.

Mind you i’m in a small corner due to construction cuz of our remodel, so i’m across from the shoes but close enough to be seen.

I walk away and start putting shoes up, I turn back and see him with a box from one of the shoes and MY cutter. He cuts the box to put under his dog and pockets my cutter. I go over to my stuff to be 100%. It was mine for sure. I walked back over and said “excuse me sorry, I need that cutter back to cut my boxes”

He looks at me and goes “oh yeah I just used it to cut a box, it cuts good”

He had that look that shows he got caught and he definitely thought he was just gonna walk away w my cutter.

He literally waited until the second I walked away cuz I was only going into the aisle across from me.

I’m not a confrontational person either so I could feel my face getting hot and stuff cuz I was nervous to ask for it back like, why take it?😭
