will my heater start a fire?

Im a 19yo female in college and i have a cat in my dorm. long story short, she spilled a little coffee into my heater/ac unit. when i tried to turn iton it just smelled really burnt. im gonna attach a photo of the heater, i dont have tools or any means to take it apart and im worried ill start a fire. i turned it off (and also have spilled water and soda into my heater, i know im stupid im really clumsy and i use it as a bedside stand, but it hasnt ever had a smell like burnt before). im just not sure what to do. i move out in a week, should i just leave it off until then? its pretty cold where i am so id like my heater. i dont have tools or anything so i cant take it apart and clean it that way, i wiped out everything i could see but idk it still smells please help!!
