Bending plywood laterally

Is it possible to bend and retain the shape of plywood bending it laterally, as in against the grain. Wondering how to go it, if it needs certain types of plywood or known thicknesses or width and heights etc.

I realise it's odd but I have a plan that would require a 3D form that bends with the grain and then against the grain, but not at the same time.
