Qdoba wasting aluminum foil to mark that it's double protein

So I googled this and didn't find it anywhere online so my local place might be the only one doing it.

When you order double protein, instead of marking it with a plastic indicator (like chipotle does) or simply telling the cashier, they take a new piece of aluminum foil and tuck it under your burrito. Then the cashier sees it, and throws it away 30 seconds later.

Today for example, it wasn't even busy and I didn't get any salsas so instead of simply telling the cashier it's double protein, she grabbed a piece of foil, handed it to the cashier who just threw it away instantly.

This level of waste drives me crazy.​
