Why is the UI/UX on Udemy so terrible?

In what universe was it ever a good decision to hike the overview and site sub header half way up the page and prevent users from collapsing it so they are forced to go full screen just to be able to read the video or practice exam content?

Fix you're dumb ass site Udemy
