I want to talk about two very notable widow players ive had in my games that made me change my viewpoint on her.

Widow unfortunately has a reputation of being the posterchild for throwing and unfortunately i feel into that mindset too. But there were two notable widow players ive had in my games (one in the enemy team and the other one in my team) that made me change my viewpoint and take widow mains seriously.

Starting with the one that was on the enemy team, this was back during the tailend of season 3(the season i started the game in). Imma tank main but this game my team had that elusive two tank mains that pretty much forced me to play dps (believe me or not im one of those who dont like playing dps). So i hopped on ol reliale Moon Knight and was doing fine for a bit till i got randomly oneshotted out of nowhere. It was a lord widow in the enemy team (she was mantis boosted). Now do note this Moon knight before his buffs and istg this widow made my life a living hell. She waa carrying the hell out of her team and forced me to actually constantly reposition but even then i came out of that match with 15 freaking deaths and im pretty sure 12 of em came from that Widow. I had to shoutout to them. It was a convoy match in fantastic 4 map(i forgot the name)

The second match was midway through season 4 i think, Widow still had that teamup with Punisher. It was a domination match on Arakko. So this widow on my team, wasnt a lord but politely asking if anyone could go punisher for the teamup saying the teamup was more goated than she was expecting and to trust her on this.(fyi i had no idea how the teamup worked). I was gonna play tank but i asked another teammate to fill tank for me as i took Punisher as i decided to trust her on it. And what do you know the match barely starts and the widow gets a triple kill. We kinda just breezed through the first round but i was the weak link unfortunately, cause was my aim was trash and the enemy angela was kinda ragebaiting me. So much so we lost the 2nd roind badly as the enemy went full flyer camp. I had to apologize to widow as i said Punisher just wasnt working for me and she politely did tell me that its ok to switch. She didnt get a replacement punisher tho as a i took over tank duties but thankfully we did win the 3rd roind quite easily. She was consistently ace through the entire and ended with MVP too.

So yah these two experiences made me re-evaluate this hero as a whole and i started taking her more seriously now. Unfortunately the epidemic of thrower widows are still going but atleast i can actually make distinctions when someone plays Widow seriously now and appreciate their efforts instrad of ranting like an idiot
