How to use Codex (or other coding agents) to play custom maps easily with EAC
If you have an app like Codex or Claude Code with local access, you can just send this prompt to it and it will make a tool that enables it to automatically load in/restore custom maps in place of specific rocket labs maps.
I play Rocket League on Epic and want an offline custom map swapper.
Please create a PowerShell tool that:
- Finds my Rocket League install, usually at C:\Program Files\Epic Games\rocketleague
- Uses TAGame\CookedPCConsole\mods as the custom maps folder
- Lists custom .upk maps
- Backs up original arena .upk files before replacing anything
- Loads selected custom maps into arena slots in this order:
-
Utopia Retro -> Labs_Utopia_P.upk
-
Underpass -> Labs_Underpass_P.upk
-
Pillars -> Labs_CirclePillars_P.upk
-
Octagon -> Labs_Octagon_02_P.upk
-
Loophole -> Labs_Holyfield_P.upk
-
Hourglass -> Labs_PillarGlass_P.upk
-
Galleon Retro -> Labs_Galleon_Mast_P.upk
-
Galleon -> Labs_Galleon_P.upk
-
Double Goal -> Labs_DoubleGoal_V2_P.upk
-
Cosmic -> Labs_Cosmic_V4_P.upk
- Supports commands like list, slots, play/load maps, restore-all, verify, and status
- Has a simple double-click .bat launcher with a menu
- Stores backups outside the Rocket League install
- Does not bypass Easy Anti-Cheat; this is only for offline/training/LAN custom map sessions launched without EAC
Make it clean, safe, and easy to use. After creating it, back up the original slot files and run list, slots, status, and verify.
