I want to leave Instagram because it's full of slop, but I must admit that it did help me stay informed. I'm not proud of this and I want to revamp the ways that I stay informed.

I have always been on the left, but before 2023 I was relatively lukewarm about it. A lot of dots didn't fully connect for me until the live-streamed genocide in Gaza. And I must admit that if it had not been for Instagram, I would have not gotten as detailed of a view of it as I did.

Fast forward to today, and I continue to hear about current events and movements via independent journalists and other leftist accounts on Instagram. I'm not proud of this and I don't want to be on that dumpster fire of an app anymore, but I also don't want to tune out what's happening.

Reddit is okay but it's pretty heavily censored too, and it's increasingly becoming prone to slop. I want to know what outlets you all use to stay informed. Maybe I'm just looking at the wrong subs.

I know Zeteo and Ground News are good.
