Let’s rewind the clock. About eight years ago, I wanted just a cheap Bluetooth speaker I can use while I’m at work. I was looking ant under $30.

The first one I bought was an Altec Lansing. That went out within the year. The speaker made static noises and would turn off if there was too much bass.

The next one I bought was the Heyday. The sound quality was great. It served its purpose.

I can’t complain because it has lasted me eight years. I’ve got my moneys worth out of it.

What happened to it is not the speaker sound itself. That still sounds fantastic. It’s fully functional and still works fantastically.

It’s the charging port. I can no longer charge it. The charging port has always been weak starting at around year 4. I’ve managed to nurse it along by keeping my speaker at work, not moving it around, keeping it upright, and changing the charging cords periodically with new ones because after a while they would stop working.

For the first time in eight years, I wanted to bring my speaker home. Well, the car ride was too much for it, and the charging port stopped working for good.

I hate to dispose of it because I know that the speaker itself still works great, but I just can’t charge it.

Last year I would have given this a 100% positive review. If not for the pesky charging port.

Target’s Heyday speaker is excellent for the price. There’s one flaw.
