Getting a cat!

I am getting a cat for the first time in a long while.

I was wondering if anyone has any advice?

A little info:

I am a family of seven, my husband and I, 4 children 15y - 1.5y, and a little girly 4yo Shihpoo.

I have had a cat before but it was probably 12-13 years ago.

We are getting a male gray kitten with blue eyes at 6-8 weeks I believe.

Does anyone have a list of things to get?

Best litter/litter box?

I can’t wait to post pictures of him!
