Ask 3 before me

Does anyone else remember that rule from grammar school? Before you ask the teacher a question, you’re supposed to try to figure it out yourself, then ask your classmates, and only then should you ask the teacher.

Why do so many adults not have this skill? I’m sick of being bothered about little shit that people could figure out if they put two seconds of effort into it.

I’m not against helping people who need it, but holy shit, can you at least try to help yourself before bothering me?

(Obviously there’s nuance to this.)
