New to NELA, looking for your favorites/recommendations for a number of things!

Hey there,

My family and I will be moving into the Monterey Hills area in a few months. Looking for recommendations on a variety of things.

  • Grocery Stores: We will be very close to Fresco but wondering where else is close by and easy to get to. I see Super A and El Super over on York. Assuming we'd do most of our shopping there.
  • Water Stores: I'm used to heading to a water store once a week to fill up a number of 5gal bottles for filtered water for our dispenser. Any recs in the area?
  • Barber: My current/soon-to-be-old barber gives me a simple cut for $25. Anything in that price range in the area?
  • Kid's Parks: We have 5 yr old twin boys. We spend a lot of time outdoors. Assuming we will be hiking around Debs a lot. We will be close to Hermon Park. The kids also love bikes so assuming we will be spending some time at the Arroyo pump track. Any other nearby cool playgrounds?
  • Libraries: Kids also love going to the library. Any recs on libraries with larger kid sections and programs?
  • Family Friendly Restaurants: Kids love all types of food. We eat a lot of Mexican and Korean food but love everything else. Any recs on kid friendly restaurants with large tables/booths?
  • Handyman/woman: Any recs on contractors who can cover plumbing, electrical, emergency stuff?

Thank you in advance!
