Changing “my number” through My Rogers app

With anyone who has done this can you please inform:

- what happens when someone calls your old number? Does it state number is now not in service or does it give them the new number they can call?

- will my texts still be on my phone from prior number if changing to a a new one? I see voicemails from old number will not be.

I have an iPhone if that matters.

- Lastly if doing through the my Rogers app if going through the options of selecting new number and possibly not liking any can one not submit process and keep their old number?
