Need advice for upcoming campaign

I am preparing for a campaign and one of the potential players wishes to play a horse. Just a horse. A horse that wears armor and runs into people. I figured maybe do an awakened horse, but I have a race that can turn into an animal. They might not budge on that option.

This potential build would be limited to one or two classes. Anything would help
