Student loan and divorce

My husband and I have 3 kids, a mortgage, and childcare costs. With the new changes to the student loan repayment, under the IDR they are going to increase my student loan repayment to $800 a month. We cannot afford this and we were given no other options. We are considering divorcing, just so I could get a lower monthly payment, but I wanted to know if anyone else has done this and if it actually helped? I thought about separating but I didn't know what would be needed for that process for my student loans. He has great health care benefits, but I am willing to give those up, so that I can afford my student loan payments.
