Physical discomfort (EH) from prolonged arousal—how to handle it with a new partner?

I (M) get "blue balls" quite easily when I’m with a girl I really like. We aren't at the stage of sleeping together yet, but the long periods of arousal during our dates are starting to cause physical pain (Epididymal Hypertension). Has anyone ever talked to their partner about this? Is it weird to bring up.
