YWAM (and other protestant missionary organizations)?

So until about a month ago, I was serving with YWAM (a low church protestsant missionary organization). I grew up evangelical/AG, and then eventually went on to joining YWAM after high school. About 6 months ago, I started inquiring Orthodoxy, and made the decision to convert in early December. I still had commitments at YWAM, so I didn't leave immediately. I am now waiting to become a catechumen (my priest said that there are a few other people that go to the parish that want to become catechumens as well, so he wants to initiate (is that the right word?) us all at the same time).

What would the quote unquote "right" way to understand the organization in the Orthodox mind? I mean they do great stuff, I worked with a lot of people who went to other countries and opened businesses, creating jobs, and boosting the local economies, but at the same time, they would be considered outside of the fullness of the faith (and maybe leading people astray?).
