ADHD meds and sensory issues

seeking advice

Can ADHD medication actually help with sensory filtering/processing or does it just mask overwhelm due to the adrenaline/dopamine?

I took my ADHD medication for the first time (dexamphetamine 10mg) and my sensory issues were literally 0. I usually struggle IMMENSELY with everything, i dissociate the moment i step outside the door... this time i didn't. Did a bunch of loud stuff and was fine for once. I'm afraid that this is actually just masking the overwhelm and pain that i usually feel, because of the adrenaline? Or does it actually help it THAT much? Or both?

Like usually i have a meltdown after an activity of 2 hours because of the sound/light, and then on meds i could do 5 hours with no issue? This seems way too good to be true...

Anything is appreciated.

I can't get to my psychiatrist for a while so I'm asking here
