What’s the latest with out of state travel for rental cars I-Pass and EZ pass?

Very curious what others have done recently for paying tolls cheapest with Florida rental cars. I do not currently have any I-Pass transponder. I know there’s been some recent updates to how I-Pass applies to Florida.
